To help me help you, please fill out this short survey before our session.

What to Wear

Colour: Which colours suit you? Warm tones? Cool tones? Think about what you’re wearing when you receive compliments. For some skin tones, it’s better to avoid certain shades. For me, I suit earthy colours, and have a particular affinity with the red/rust family. Take this quiz if you aren’t sure what colours suit you best: https://play.howstuffworks.com/quiz/which-colors-look-best-you

Shape: Fitted clothing generally works best. I would opt for something structured rather than something loose. Layers are also great - a fitted singlet or tee under a shirt, jacket or cardigan is a great option. Bringing a range of different necklines is also useful. Some examples: skivvy or turtleneck, a blouse or button up shirt, a fitted t-shirt or singlet, off-the-shoulder top, v-neck, denim jacket, blazer, cardigan, leather jacket.

Style: Style is such a personal thing. My advice is to wear what you love. If you wear patterns and prints, bring some along. Bring more than you think you'll need, and we can choose the best pieces on the day during the consult. A good rule of thumb is wearing what you would wear to an audition.

Hair and Makeup

In terms of hair and makeup, you can do your own, or you can have it done by a professional.

Doing your own makeup:

I recommend keeping your hair neat, and as you would wear to an in person audition / interview. There will be opportunities throughout the shoot for changes, e.g. hair up, hair down etc., and for makeup, I recommend opting for an enhanced natural look as opposed to full on glamour. We want the eyes to pop, so natural coverage is great, and we can always add more (blush, lip colour, eye liner etc) as we go, if we want to add some drama.

Having your makeup done professionally:

I recommend the following makeup artists. You will need to contact them directly to find out availability and exact pricing:

Other Tips

Other things you can do to get the most out of the session:

- drink lots of water between now and the shoot day

- get a good nights sleep the night before and avoid drinking too much alcohol in the lead up

- don’t introduce any new skincare products between now and the shoot

I have your back, and will guide you on the day, so the last thing you need to do is relax into the process and have fun!
