A Footscray Gardens Engagement!

I love engagement shoots. They are equal parts fun and romantic. Sometimes it can feel a little unnatural standing in front of a camera and posing, but I love to capture the moments that are real. Candid, raw and exactly as you are.

I met Lucinda and Alex at my favourite park in Melbourne, Footscray Gardens. It was the perfect middle ground, as they are in West Footscray and I am in Flemington. And even better, it's dog friendly!

I can't tell you how glad I was that they brought their fur baby, Nala along. She is such a cutie and was SO obedient on the day, spending most of the shoot off lead and doing her own thing when we weren't smothering her with cuddles!

I particularly love this photo bomb:

Winter engagement shoots are so wonderful. Wedding season usually takes place in the warmer months (especially in Melbourne), so it's nice to get rugged up in the Winter woolies and peel the layers off as the shoot progresses. It's also a really good excuse to cuddle up to your other half for some extra warmth. Not only that, but if you're a nature lover like me, parks and gardens tend to look their best in Winter. The grass and trees are greener, the soil is browner (or maybe wetter!), and there's not a sweat mark in sight!

But my favourite thing of all is capturing two people who are in love. And with Lucinda and Alex, there was no shortage of love. One look at their faces tells us all we need to know. Their ease with one another was beautiful to witness, as was their ability to make one another laugh. Here's to many more years of love for these two beautiful souls! X
